FNL: SHALLOW WATERS with support from ASTRAL PROJECT and CAVANA
Fri, March 24, 2017, 7:30 PM – 11:30 PM GMT
SHALLOW WATERS: originating from Wigan, Shallow Waters are a four-piece 90’s Rock outfit. If the likes of The Doors, Pearl Jam, The Verve and The Music were hanging out with shoe gazers like Ride and more recently, Tame Impala this is probably what it would sound like. Over the last few months the band have played a range of barnstorming gigs in Wigan and Preston, and more recently Manchester Academy, The Night & Day and FAB Cafe, as well as having a future London date in the pipeline supporting The Buddha Pests alongside fellow Wigan band Hans Shenans. ‘Alleviate’, the first track released from their debut EP was recorded with former Tansads: and current Merry Hell member John Kettle and has been well received by local radio.
Making their Old Courts debut, we’re pleased to welcome ASTRAL PROJECT. Listing influences such as The Doors, Tame Impala, The Horrors, Jefferson Airplane and My Bloody Valentines, the band produce shoegaze infused psychedelia with intertwining reverb drenched riffs and melodic vocals. Be ready for the mind trip.
CAVANA are a young four-piece Indie Rock band based in Manchester/ Salford. Writing hard-hitting, melodic Indie Rock by combining both subtleties with raw aggression. This four piece is one to keep an eye on. Their live shows leave you with nothing but a ripped t-shirt and a few broken bones. With huge aims of making a real noise - These boys are here to stay. "They put on a ferocious display that was faultless and made all the better by how effortless they made the performance look" - Emerging North. "Best band to ever come out of Manchester" // mum
