Focus Group: Future Funding of Supported Housing - London
Thu 30 March 2017, 13:45 – 16:30 BST
The government recently consulted on its proposals for a ring fenced fund, administered by Local Authorities, to replace Housing Benefit payments over and above Local Housing Allowance levels in Supported Housing.
In light of this consultation, the National Housing Federation has commissioned Homeless Link to undertake research, looking at the options for increased statutory protection for Supported Housing . There is now a clear opportunity for the sector to make the case for additional statutory protections and we are keen to explore:
What any new or enhanced statutory protections might look like
The pros and cons of different kinds of statutory protection, including their possible impact on the provider market and on the existing and future supply of Supported Housing, across all client groups.
As part of this research, we are holding two focus groups with key stakeholders. The aim of these focus groups is to inform future policy and understand where additional statutory protection might be most beneficially applied, in order to protect and secure the future of Supported Housing within the new funding model.
