Focus Group - Improving Support for Patients & Caregivers
Overview
Help us to support you better
When you or someone you love is diagnosed with a brain tumour, having the right information at the right time makes all the difference. But everyone's needs are different.
We want to hear from you.
Sharon Fernandez, a radiographer specialising in brain cancer at Leeds, wants to understand better how to improve support for patients and caregivers. Earlier work on new radiotherapy treatments had shown a gap between what patients expected and what actually happened during treatment. Sharon is leading research on information needs for people living with a brain tumour, often because information isn’t personalised enough.
Sharon would like to hear about:
- What information matters most to you
- When you need it during your journey
- How you'd like to receive it
Your experiences will directly shape how we support people like you in the future.
Why join us?
Brain tumours can affect memory and thinking, making medical information harder to understand. Together, we can create better ways to:
- Share information that makes sense to you
- Help you feel confident in your decisions
- Support you as an active partner in your care
- Improve quality of life throughout your journey
What happens next?
In our focus group, we'll have an open conversation about your needs and ideas. There are no right or wrong answers – just your honest experience. Together, working with Sharon, we'll co-design a personalised approach that could help many patients and families in the future.
Your experience matters. Your voice can make a difference.
