Focus Group: Richmond Upon Thames Neurological Conditions Needs Assessment

We are inviting residents of Richmond upon Thames to take part in a focus group to help us better understand the needs of people living with neurological conditions. If you are living with a neurological condition or are an unpaid carer or family member (current or previous) for someone who is, we would love to hear from you.

Your insights will help build a clearer picture of local needs and inform future strategies to improve support and services.

Who should attend

• People living with neurological conditions
• Unpaid carers who currently support or have previously supported someone living with a neurological condition

This includes any neurological condition such as:

• Parkinson’s disease
• Multiple sclerosis
• Stroke
• Migraine
• Epilepsy
• Neurological trauma

What to expect

Join a small group discussion in a welcoming and inclusive space. Each session will include up to 15 people living with neurological conditions and carers. You’ll have the opportunity to share your experiences and ideas on topics such as:

• Your journey from diagnosis to daily life
• Support for memory, thinking, and communication
• What carers and staff need to feel supported
• Language used to describe conditions
• Planning ahead and end-of-life care

These focus groups will be supported by Healthwatch Richmond, who will help ensure the sessions are inclusive, respectful, and participant-led.

When registering, please also indicate whether you are:

• A person living with a neurological condition
• An unpaid carer or family member (current or previous)

To support the recording and analysis of the focus group discussions, we will be using Google Gemini, a secure AI tool that helps us capture and understand key themes from the conversation.

This focus group is part of a wider neurological conditions needs assessment being carried out in Richmond upon Thames.
