Event description

Description

Project coordinators have a large toolkit to work with when evaluating their work. While stats allow us to measure variables that tell us about the what, where and when of a project, having a face-to-face conversation with participants can help us gain greater understanding of why or how an idea worked. When combined, these two approaches can provide the best overview of a project, producing powerful and insightful data.

This workshop explores focus groups as an effective tool for project evaluation. It will explain the importance of understanding participant opinions and feelings, how they can be used at different project stages to influence the process, why focus groups are useful for obtaining a wider perspective, and how the data gained can be used to produce better impact reports. Practical skills will also be discussed with tips provided for managing group dynamics and developing confidence as an interviewer
