A panel event offering expert legal, creative and business perspectives on co-producing screen content.
About this event
Co-production is an increasingly important model for film and television, with many of the most successful screen projects now produced by multiple production partners, often spanning a number of territories.
FOCUS ON: Co-production brings together experts in media law, film and television production, business affairs and public sector finance, to help production companies identify the risks and opportunities inherant in co-producing for film and television.
Nigel Pope from Maramedia (Stormborn) will give a first hand account of the company's own experience negotiating and managing complex co-productions. Kirstie McLure from The Televators will offer an insight into business affairs and finance, and legal expert Nick Mahara from Sheridans law firm will advise on legal negotiations, treaties, IP and contracts.
The panel will be hosted by Alberto Valverde from Creative Europe, who will lead the panel in a broad and practical discussion covering all aspects of successfully establishing and managing a co-production.
PLEASE NOTE: This event is geared towards film and TV production companies with an interest in learning more about the co-production landscape and current opportunities.
One-to-one meetings with both Kirstie McLure and Nick Mahara will be available on the day of the event in Edinburgh from 1.30pm - 4.00pm. Please note that a contribution of £25 is required for each meeting. To register your interest and book a 30 minute slot please contact Rebecca at hello@filmcityfutures.com.
