Please join us for the Focus on Professional Services Panel Discussion and Professional Networking event at PwC, 1 Embankment Place, London WC2N 6RH on the 28th of September from 6:30pm to 8:30pm.

The aim of this event is to inspire, assist and guide those who either wish to pursue a career in this field or those who already work in this field, as well as, to provide a networking opportunity for professionals from a wide range of sectors.

Our inspirational panellists include:

Tayyaba Arif (Director, Risk Assurance - Advanced Risk and Compliance Analytics, PwC)

Tayyaba has over 15 years of experience in the field of Data and Analytics. She is passionate about all things data and uses her significant experience to help clients transform the way in which they view and utilize data. At PwC, Tayyaba is leading on Data Management supporting clients in shaping and executing their Data Strategy. Recently, she has been focused on the General Data Protection Regulation for Financial Services Institutions. Tayyaba has worked extensively within consulting services and prior to joining PwC, she led Data Governance at Accenture. Outside of work, Tayyaba enjoys advising on data analytics and is a mentor to a number of start ups. Tayyaba holds a Master of Science in Computer Engineering from Norwegian University of Science and Technology. She is fluent in Scandinavian languages and has lived and worked across Europe.

Humera Afzal (Director, Consulting and Delivering Deal Value, PwC)

Humera has a diverse background, having worked both in and outside PwC. At PwC, Humera has worked in audit, Structuring Services, and Capital Markets. She has spent the past 3 years, originating and executing M&A transactions to help grow and diversify PwC businesses. Outside PwC, Humera has been an M&A banker, structuring acquisition transactions for large corporates. She has also run her own business as a founder/partner in a start-up fund, raising capital to invest in mezzanine capital in infrastructure projects. Humera has a masters degree in Mechanical Engineering from Imperial College, London. She is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and has an MBA from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. She has lived and worked in 8 countries.

Mohammad Shoaib Memon (CFO, Europe Arab Bank plc)

Mohammad Shoaib is the Chief Financial Officer at Europe Arab Bank (EAB) plc, part of the Arab Bank Group, one of the largest Middle Eastern financial institutions. Mohammad Shoaib has professional experience of more than 17 years and in his current role as CFO is responsible for wide-ranging matters including strategic planning, financial reporting and control, taxation and regulatory matters. He also leads the Marketing & Communications and Facilities teams at EAB. Prior to EAB, he was associated with Ernst & Young and KPMG. Mohammad Shoaib is a member of ICAEW, ACCA and Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (ICAP) and has attended leadership program at the Harvard Business School. He is a member of the Financial Services Faculty of the ICAEW, Arab Bankers Association and the CFO Committee of the Association of Foreign Banks UK. He is also the President of UK Chapter of ICAP and is a regular speaker at conferences and events. His other interests include cricket, golf, racquet sports and football. He is also closely involved with a large scale higher education and health services project in lower Sindh, Pakistan.

Adnan Zaheer (myFinancepartner, PwC)

Adnan is a Fellow Chartered and Certified Accountant and MBA. He has over 15 years’ experience in FTSE100 and SMEs. As a Senior Manager in myFinancepartner at PwC Digital Private Business, he assists SMEs in scaling up, fundraising and strengthening their reporting and financial processes. Before joining PwC, he supported the turnaround of Arena Flowers to become one of UK's top three flowers company by courier. He also assisted a Fintech to start up Smart Pension to be the second largest pension auto-enrolment company and its multi-million-pound fundraising. He worked in technology, fintech, retail, manufacturing, education and leisure sectors. Adnan was 2016 UK Finance Director of the year for growth companies’ finalist.

Moderator

Omar Butt (UK Deal Origination, Corporate Finance, Family Office Group, PwC)

Omar works in PwC’s Global Deals Origination (GDO) and helps lead the Family Office Group within our Deals business. GDO focusses on originating large investment opportunities for sovereign investment funds and global family offices. Omar is responsible for leading client relationships with families and ultra-high net worth individuals and their private investment vehicles with a view to introducing M&A deals to family capital. Omar also helps lead the Next Generation in Family Business programme in the UK for our Private Client team. He was previously within the firm's restructuring team within Deals (BRS) and trained with our London Mid Tier audit team. Prior to joining PwC he worked for a family office in the US.
