Focus on Scotland is the country's festival of factual production, a one day event which brings together commisioners, the production community, education and new talent to

Focus on Scotland is a festival of factual television being held at the University of Stirling on the 21st October 2019.

Getting right to the heart of crucial issues for the Scottish production community, this one-day event will explore commissioning across a range of channels, the future of documentary, developing talent for the 21st century and growing production businesses in Scotland.

For professionals, the programme includes panel discussions and masterclasses featuring a range of leading commissioners and the indie community. For emerging talent, top industry professionals will run workshops on factual development developing documentary stories and location lighting. There will be the chance to pitch your content ideas to industry decision makers.

There are opportunities to network over lunch and a drinks reception in the evening, as well as the awards ceremony for our Focus on Factual short film competition. And it’s all free!

  • Student Documentary Pitch Contest chaired by the BBC's Louise Thornton
