COURSE OBJECTIVES

  • To have an overall understanding of FASD
  • To know the risks of consuming alcohol during pregnancy
  • To recognise the presentation of FASD
  • To know where to get support

This course raises awareness of the detrimental effects of prenatal alcohol consumption on the unborn baby. Recent research suggests 6% of the population (approximately 1 million people) may have FASD. The symptoms of FASD can be misunderstood and misdiagnosed, therefore raising awareness of what to look out for and getting conversations started is key to making changes.
