Embroidery and Screen Printing with Sophie Darling & Ellie Mac Embroidery

Join Brighton designers Sophie Darling and Ellie Mac Embroidery for a unique, immersive Christmas workshop blending screen printing, metallic foiling, and embroidery.

Across this intimate creative session, you’ll explore both artists’ signature techniques and walk away with your own hand-printed and embroidered miniature artwork — a small piece of art layered with texture, shimmer, and stitch.

What to Expect

We’ll begin with an introduction to Sophie and Ellie, their work and the inspiration behind their collaboration. You’ll then move between their neighbouring studios to experience both processes:

🖤 Step 1 — Choose Your Design & Print with Sophie Darling
Start by choosing your design with Sophie and appliqué shape with Ellie. Then in Sophie’s studio you’ll screen print the top layer and foil your design in your choice of metallic tone — gold, rose gold, or silver — bringing your chosen design to to life..

🧵 Step 2 — Embroider & Appliqué with Ellie Mac
Next, in Ellie’s embroidery studio, you’ll finalise your silhouette motif and watch as she brings your screen printed artwork to life with the craft of freehand machine embroidery on her vintage Irish Singer.

While your work is being finished by Ellie, you’ll have the opportunity relax, chat with Sophie and Ellie, and browse their Brighton Artists Open House collections in our warm and creative shared space.
