About the course

Explore a range of folded book structures in this one day workshop, aimed at people

who are interested in books that would love to experiment with different folded book

structures.  

At the beginning of the session you will be shown a range of Artist books

made by artists and designers, then you will be taught how to make a number of folded

book structures with covers: concertina, falling concertina and maze books. You will

then get the chance to experiment with different rubber stamps or use cut work to

develop your structures.

What will I need to bring?

All materials and equipment will be provided.

If you have any old good quality wrapping paper you would like to use please bring along, otherwise all materials will be provided.

Please wear old clothes as things can get messy. Aprons will be provided.

You may want to bring a packed lunch and your own water bottle. Teas and coffees are provided.

About the tutor

This course will be taught by book artist and tutor Kim Bevan.

Kim provides workshops for all ages around Sheffield, here at Carousel and in her own studio.

In her own practice she makes artist books which play around with 3D sculptural folding techniques and she creates artwork using paper cutting, illustration and printmaking.

About Carousel Print Studio

Carousel Print Studio is a not for profit charity based on the ground floor of Yorkshire Art Space, Exchange Place Studios in Castlegate. Carousel provides educational workshops in printmaking and opportunities for creatives in Sheffield, in a bright, warm, accessible and well equipped printmaking studio. We are a non toxic studio.

Carousel is located on the ground floor just to the left of reception. The doors are widened for ease of access and there is an accessible toilet. If you have any questions regarding access needs please do contact us at print@carouselprintstudio.com

If the course is cancelled? In the unlikely event the course is cancelled by Carousel Print Studio, a full refund will be issued.
