A darkly atmospheric blend of instrumental folk and contemporary-jazz featuring a group of some of the top cross-genre players in Scotland. Melodic elements inspired by the folk tradition are placed within unusual harmonic and rhythmic settings whilst Improvisations weave in and out of intricately composed passages and surging grooves.
James Lindsay - Double Bass, Tom Gibbs - Keys, Adam Sutherland - Fiddle, Hamish Napier - Flute & Keys, Ben Macdonald - Guitar & Scott Mackay - Drums.
Josiah & Ludwig
Emerging from their respective dwellings across Scotland’s central belt, Josiah & Ludwig are a folk duo, brand new to the contemporary traditional music scene. The Glasgow based two-piece consists of the adventurous, Harry “Ludwig” Gorski-Brown on the fiddle, and his trusty counterpart, Andrew “Josiah” Herrington on the guitar.
These two musicians started playing together in the latter part of 2016, when they began writing material and developing their sound. Josiah & Ludwig draw from a rich blend of influences to fashion together a refreshing concoction of genre and style, which is a colourful contribution to the traditional Scottish music scene.
