Creating great ideas
Great minds have always understood the creative process behind great ideas.
For some this meant an evolution of ideas, buidling upon previous concepts, passing on knowledge and sharing their thoughts - think of Aristotle, Socrates, and then Plato. For others in meant stilling the mind enough to allow the clarity for insight to reveal itself. For others it was by letting go and relaxing that the best insights came.
Great passion and commitment also gives life to ideas and brings ideas to life. The compassion of Mother Teresa, the commitment of Martin Luther King, or the entrepreneurial drive of Anita Roddick or Richard Branson.
Like Jacqueline Novogratz, the thing that all the above share is focus, a vision, or commitment to principles which sets the foundations for the creative process to happen.
These salons are organised along the same philosophy - setting a platform of focus, sharing of ideas, and relaxation to nuture intuition. A recipe for stimulating both the reasoning and intuitive mind: a delicious healthy meal and a group of people focused on one particular issue, challenge or topic.
The first salon, run in partnership with Ubuntu Chocolate and taking place in London is on the theme of health and the food industry. How can we produce high quality, tasty viable products that work for the food industry and our health?
The salon is limited to 12 people, the ticket fee includes registration, however you will need to pay for any food and drink you order during the evening.
Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing, there is a field. I'll meet you there - Rumi
When & Where
London+Acumen is a group of passionate volunteers who work together to promote the values of Acumen within the London community, and to spread the word about how impact investing and patient capital can be used to challenge the way the world tackles poverty.
We run courses, events, projects and initiatives that spread the word about impact investing, build capability within the social enterprises and bring people together who are passionate about supporting Acumen's mission to change the way the world tackles poverty.
We are one of 24 chapters around the world seeking to apply the principles and values of Acumen within our own communities. Please vist our website, like us on Facebook or follow us on Twitter for more information about us and to see our upcoming events.
