Event description

Description

“I have some food in my bag for you
Not that edible food, the food you eat
No, I have some food for thought.

– Erykah Badu

Food For Thought is our new take on afternoon tea, an opportunity to feed our bellies and minds every Thursday here at Impact Hub Birmingham.

Each week we gather around the workbench together to discuss key themes and ideas each week, hosted by the community over tea and cake!

Should Shared Parental Leave apply to the self-employed?

This week’s conversation is hosted by researchers from the University of Birmingham, Dr Holly Burkett and Dr Sarah Forbes.

Holly and Sarah Forbes will be discussing Shared Parental Leave, a policy which was established in April 2015. They are keen to understand your views of this policy and the fact it does not apply to the self-employed or agency workers. This article highlights some recent discussions of the policy from a self-employment point of view.

Please come and share your views over cake in this interactive Food for Thought session.
