This event will bring together people currently involved in food poverty initiatives in the Glasgow area, many of which are faith-based, to engage with one another in thinking holistically about this shared problem of food poverty in our city.
This will be an opportunity to:
- connect up with similar projects the city
- brainstorm about practical ways of co-operation
- learn about how you can increase your pool of volunteers
A free, locally sourced buffet dinner will be served at 6pm.
This event will be followed by volunteer recruitment fare on Thursday April 30 in The Pearce Institute at 6pm. This will be specifically designed to link the food poverty initiatives represented at the first event with volunteers from diverse faith and belief backgrounds. The ability to send representatives to both events is therefore highly desirable.
These events are being organised by Interfaith Glasgow and The Transformation Team because we recognise that much of the vital work being done in the city to tackle food poverty is being delivered by faith and belief communities and we believe that more can be achieved through co-operation.
If you have any questions or would like to discuss any aspect of this initiative please don’t hesitate to contact us.
