Book your students to attend this one-day practical workshop to explore:

Meat preservation and packaging techniques in the Food Industry

  • Tuesday 3rd March 2026

This programme will develop your pupils’ understanding of food processing, preservation and packaging through practical examples using in the Food Technology Centre at CAFRE.

Key areas that will be covered are:

- Stages of meat processing from farm to supermarket shelf

- Meat slaughtering, processing and quality control,

- Methods used to preserve meats including drying, vacuum packing and curing

When booking places, tickets must be requested for each pupil attending, not one ticket per school booking. Teachers are not required to book a ticket.

Registration: 9.45am

Workshop starts: 10.00am

Workshop finishes: 2.00pm

Pupils may bring their own snacks and lunch or purchase food from the outlets on campus.
