Event description

Description

Small-scale farming produces 70% of the world’s food supply and can sequester carbon – but it’s facing climate change, land grabs, and the pressures of globalisation. The food sovereignty movement, led by Via Campesina with 2 million+ members, is challenging oppression – from capitalism to patriarchy – and building a system based on justice. Hear about examples from around the world, and discuss what food sovereignty might mean for Scotland.

With:-
Kirtana Chandrasekaran, Friends of the Earth International;
Bella Crowe, Nourish Scotland;
Graham McGeoch on the MST (Landless Workers' Movement) in Brazil.
