Footsteps of Wordsworth - Official Lake District Guided Walk

Start point: The Welcome Building, Aira Force, Ullswater, CA11 0JS

Length: 6km (3.7miles) with 120m (394ft) of ascent

Time: 3.5 hours (approx.)

An Easy+ graded walk that takes a bus from Aira Force car park to Glenridding. The walk then goes along the shore of Ullswater following the way that William and Dorothy Wordsworth took nearly 200 years ago. On arriving back at Aira Force the walk continues for those who wish up to the waterfall and back.

Paths are generally good but there are some sections that are stony and others that will be muddy in poor weather.

Participants will need to dress appropriately for the terrain and weather and bring a packed lunch.

Participants will need to purchase their own bus ticket from Aira Force to Glenridding. The cost of the bus is £2.90 per adult and £2.20 per child.
