Frequently asked questions

What is an Information Session?

Connect information sessions are presentations, both live and recorded, to support and guide parent groups in their function, organisation and work. We have sessions with partner organisations too with specialist knowledge.

Are sessions recorded?

We record sessions for our members to watch at a time that works best for you. During the meeting, your sound will be off and your image won’t be visible to others at the meeting, the host will share a presentation and guide you through the agenda.

Who can attend the session?

We run our core sessions for Connect members and have sessions each term that are open to all parents, carers and parent groups.

Can more than one group member attend the session?

Any parent and carer with a child or young person at a Parent Group member school can attend a Connect Information session. As many members of your group can attend as you wish. If a colleague wants to attend, do ask them to register for a place.

Can I ask questions?

We ask everyone to introduce themselves in the Chat function and use the chat function for questions, but you can submit questions before and after the session at info@connect.scot. We stop at a few points throughout the session to look at questions and comments in the chat and answer questions

Should I take notes?

We send out a PDF of the slides with live links after the session to the email address used to register for the session. Members can also access our session recordings.

Are Connect sessions accessible?

If you have any special requirements for accessing Connect sessions, please email info@connect.scot. We are always looking for ways to improve our sessions.
