About this event
Celebrate International Women's Day with Gulp on 8th March.
'For starters' supperclub will be an intimate evening of shared food and arousing conversation hosted by Dr Gemma Commane.
Gemma is part of the collective visionaries behind Bean Flicks Festival (Birmingham's 1st ethical, feminist, queer & kink-positive porn festival) and the author of Bad Girls, Dirty Bodies: Sex, Performance and Safe Femininity, published by Bloomsbury (April 2022).
Artworks and objects by some incredible local artists will be included in this supperclub. Gulp's founder Kaye Winwood will reimagine their use in the service and table decor throughout the evening. A 'menu' of artworks will also available to buy. Artists include Sarah Taylor-Silverwood, Leah Carless, Sian Tonkin and Nuala Clooney & Kaye Winwood...more to be announced.
Food will be made for sharing, with an edible landscape, enabling uninterrupted conversation to flow.
£40 ticket includes a welcome drink, dinner and lots of lip-smacking conversation.
'For starters' will become a regular supperclub in Gulp's calendar, devised to bring food, art and conversation together in an intimate setting.
