ABOUT THE WORKSHOP:
Foraging Workshop, Saturday 4th October from 10am-12noon.
Join our very knowledgeable tutor, Maddy, for a foraging walk through the woods at Raven's Rock Gorge, where you will be picking and identifying seasonal plants and produce, as well as taking time to immerse yourselves in the sights, smells and sounds of the woods. At this time of year, you can find lingonberries and winter chanterelles, among other edible flora and fauna, in these woods!
This class is for all ages, but children must be kept under the supervision of their parent(s)/guardian. No dogs, please.
Bring something to collect your finds in, and participants should feel free to bring any ID books they may have.
What attendees will learn:
- How to safely identify edible wild plants and mushrooms
- Sustainable foraging techniques
- Tips for harvesting and preparing wild edibles
