Event Information
About this event
Please note: This is the booking platform for makers, artists, vintage & flea traders & stall holders . Due to a funding windfall, we are able to offer this flea for free. However, if you would like to donate to the running of future events then please feel free to do so.
Fore Street Flea
The Fore Street Flea is an event celebrating the Independent West Quarter, run for the community by the community.
It's a not for profit event and proceeds from stall booking fees go directly back into the running of the event. As such, we do not offer discounted stalls.
The Fore Street Flea gives a platform to artists & makers just starting out. We also welcome vintage & flea stalls so the event has an interesting and unique mix!
The independent businesses on Fore Street have all worked together to bring this event to you. Thank you for becoming part of our community.

FAQs
What's the refund policy?
If you can't make it on the day then please let us know as soon as possible. You're welcome to send someone in your place, but you'll need to let us know their name and email address. The Fore Street Flea or InExeter cannot be held responsible for any losses made.
Refunds will ONLY be issued in exceptional circumstances (not for example for bad weather unless the event is cancelled by the organiser).
Booking policy.
Trader, maker, crafter, food and drink (etc.) stalls are at the final and total discretion of InExeter Ltd. Once tickets have been purchased, stalls will be reviewed. Purchase of a ticket does not automatically entitle you to hold a stall at the market. In very rare circumstances, InExeter may refuse an application (with return of payment/ refund) and you will not be allowed to attend the market. No justification or reason shall be issued in instances where stallholders are refused. The decision of InExeter Ltd is final. If you do not hear from us then please assume that you can go ahead and trade.
The number of stalls will be limited, so book early to avoid disappointment.
Payment is required at the point of application. If your application is refused, your payment will be refunded.
What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?
The closest long-stay car parks are located Mary Arches Street and Smythen Street. As the road will be closed from 9am there will be no direct access to Fore Street by car. Traders may bring their car on to the street to unload from 10.30am. Set up time is strictly from 10.30am onwards. When you arrive look for a free space or come and find one of the organisers if you need help (we'll be adorned in reflective yellow outfits) who will be able to point you to an available pitch. Please ensure that your stall is set up and ready for 11.55am.
How big is my pitch?
2 Meters x 2 Meters - It's helpful to make sure your stall is as attractive and appealing to shoppers - you can use any props you like to display your items as long as they are safe, we ask you not to use glass displays or anything that may fall over or potentially cause harm to others. The Fore Street Flea does not supply tables or any props - you'll need to bring everything you need for your pitch.
Finding space, sharing with friends, can I be next to a specific person?
Spaces marked with a* or a name are reserved for Fore Street Traders or stallholders with disabilities. All other spaces are free to be chosen from on the day. If you'd like to be next to a friend we suggest that you arrive together or hold a space for one another. As long as you're within an allocated space, feel free to buddy up with your friends.
What if it rains?
The Fore Street Flea is an all weather event. Please supply your own coverings, umbrellas, warm clothing and stall covering. GAZEBOS MUST BE NO BIGGER THAN 2MX2M. In the event of an extreme weather warning we will cancel the event and notify everyone attending via email. If the organisers feel that it is too windy, you may be asked to take down your gazebos.
What if I need to leave my stall/ where are the loos? There are toilets in a few of the cafes/pubs surrounding the Fore Street Flea. If you need to leave your stall please ask a neighbour / friend to watch it for you.
First Aid, Safety & Security Any accidents on the day should be reported to one of the organisers (look for the yellow Jackets) - there will be first aiders available throughout the duration of the event. It's important that the pavements are not blocked by boxes or large groups of people, and that the middle of the street is not obstructed by any fixtures or items. These areas are thoroughfares for pedestrians as well as the emergency services. THIS IS WHY GAZEBOS MUST BE 2MX2M ONLY. We do have security at the event so if you notice any untoward behaviour or any other suspicious activity please do notify a warden.
Finish time and cleaning up - can I leave early? We encourage you to stay at the Flea until 4pm, even if you sell out of everything early. It may be difficult and hazardous to pack your things up while the fair is still busy and it's helpful to other traders if the Flea still looks as though it's in full swing. Please take all of your belongings and litter away with you, and be respectful to the community.
How can I spread the word? We welcome any help from stallholders, we'd love it if you could spare the time to promote the event amongst your friends and customers and invite people along to the event. We will send the appropriate digital imagery files for you to share or print out. Follow @thewestquarterexeter @lottie_markets_manager and @inexeter on Instagram and Facebook and use #forestreetflea.
How can I contact the organiser with any questions?
