Forest Bathing: a mindfulness & nature-based session to de-stress & relax
Overview
In need of a wellbeing boost this winter? Then join us for a dose of relaxing and restorative nature therapy at a Forest Bathing session in the ancient woodland ofBeckenham Place Park. Experience some effective ways to reduce stress from the body and mind and enjoy slowing down as we take a gentle walk of 1.5-2km through the woods, stopping in some glades to: do some mindfulness based practices - connecting with nature using our senses - then chill out with a guided relaxation under the tree canopy and end with a warming tea and snack.
There is a wealth of scientific research, that shows that being in a forest or wooded area has a host of health benefits for our mental and physical well-being, e.g. it can: boost our mood, reduce stress and anxiety, and improve immune system function and sleep.
Your guide, Maya, (qualified with The Forest Bathing Institute -Complimentary Medicine Association accredited), has experience of leading forest bathing sessions for over 300 people (in both Beckenham Place Park and in for council staff at lunchtimes in Surrey).
