About this event

Forest Bathing in Skiathos

Welcome to a rejuvenating experience of forest bathing in the beautiful island of Skiathos! We'll meet at Under the Pine Tree (bus stop 24) for a morning of relaxation and connection with nature. Immerse yourself in the lush greenery, breathe in the fresh air, and let go of all your worries. Forest bathing is a practice that originated in Japan and focuses on the therapeutic benefits of being in nature. Take this opportunity to slow down, unwind, and recharge your mind, body, and soul. No phones, no distractions, just you and the peaceful surroundings of the forest.

Our session concludes with a mindful tea ceremony, group sharing and nature poem. The tea is Greek mountain tea with honey and lemon.

You'll be guided by Natalie, an experienced Forest Bathing Guide.

This is - for now - a one off session (with the hope of more in the future) and is open to holiday makers and locals. All proceeds will be donated to the Skiathos Dog Shelter, the suggested amount is 15 euros but you can pay whatever you are comfortable with.

Anyone is welcome but you must sign up as places are limited.

The session starts and ends at Under The Pine Tree, if you'd like to go for lunch there afterwards you're welcome to join me.

Frequently asked questions

What should I wear?

Please wear comfortable clothing suitable for the weather and environment (forest). Trainers are advisable as we will be on uneven ground - do not wear flip flops. As we are out in nature there will likely be insects, so covering up is a good idea especially if you are prone to bites.

What do I need to bring?

Sensible clothing and footwear, water to drink, suncream and insect repellent.

I've never done Forest Bathing before

Great! You will love it! No experience needed, everything will be explained to you.

Can children attend?

This depends on how that might affect your experience and the experience of the group; forest bathing is a relaxing and peaceful activity where you disconnect from day to day life in order to reconnect to nature. Also, will they enjoy it? It's up to you!

What happens if it rains?

Forest Bathing is wonderful in the rain! I will only cancel the session in the event of a storm when it would be unsafe to go into the forest. Just dress appropriately.

Do I need a high level of fitness?

No, the pace is slow with frequent stops for restful, mindful activities. However we will be outside and moving for 2.5 hours so you need to be able to manage that. The tea ceremony at the end takes place seated on the ground, seat pads will be provided.
