Forest Bathing is a mindful, sensory walk through the forest — not for exercise or destination, but for deep presence, connection, and healing. Originating in Japan as Shinrin-yoku, it is now embraced globally as a simple but powerful wellness practice.

Through gentle invitations, we will:

Slow down, Walk mindfully through nature, Breathe with the trees, Listen deeply to the sounds of the forest, Rest, reflect, and reconnect with the Earth and ourselves.

Nature is a healer;you just have to open up to her power and her healing. When all your senses are engaged at once you are , by definition, fully present. It's a feeling of being alive, and its absolutely sensational.

What to Bring:

  • Comfortable clothes for walking and sitting outdoors
  • Water bottle
  • A small towel or blanket to sit on
  • An open heart

Children over 14 welcome if accompanied by an adult. This is a quiet, screen-free space to support deep listening and stillness.

Frequently asked questions

Is there access for people with walking difficulties?

Yes, with a carer and the sense of adventure.

Do I need to be physically fit?

The route will usually be no more than a mile, and the terrain is generally gentle so it should be suitable for all levels of fitness. However please feel free to get in contact with me if you have any concerns about accessibility or mobility issues.

What is forest bathing?

Forest bathing or ‘shinrin-yoku’ as it is known in Japan, translates as ‘taking in the forest atmosphere using your senses’. It is not a foraging walk, a hike, a powerwalk or a naturalist walk and it does not involve swimming so no bathing gear is needed!

Are there toilets available?

Yes, there are public toilets available opposite Zak's restaurant.

Can I use my mobile phone?

You can bring your phone if it makes you feel more comfortable. If you do wish to take it with you, you will be asked to switch it off or keep it on silent/vibrate.

What is your cancellation policy?

If you need to cancel, a full refund will be issued if you cancel 7 days prior to the event (minus any credit or debit card charges). In the unlikely event that an event is cancelled by Fani Skamagki then you will receive a full refund or exchange for a future forest bathing session.

Clay has fascinated me for many years. I have experimented with many colours and forms, in awe of the transformative power of fire to create ceramics.

I draw my inspiration from nature and ancient civilisations.

After the gift of motherhood, I followed my curiosity to explore natural rhythms and patterns.

This led me to Forest School, where I trained to become a leader, and also to complete the Permaculture design course, and to become a mentor.

I became fascinated with connection to nature and flow state. Through this process, I witnessed and understood the medicinal benefit of immersion in nature.

These are the gifts that I would like to offer to the people around me and the community that I live in.
