Forest Bathing Session
Event Information
About this event
This session is being run in the hope of helping those who have been experiencing poor mental health as a result of the pandemic and are looking to improve their wellbeing.
We are asking for £15 per person for this session - Your contribution will go towards covering the cost of running the event, allow us to hold more in the future and also help support our charity's vital local mental health services. Thank you.
"Shinrin-Yoku" or forest bathing is the practice of spending time in the forest for better health, happiness and a sense of calm. It literally means to bathe in the atmosphere of the forest, immersing your senses in your surroundings.
Research has proven that spending time around trees can reduce blood pressure, lower stress, boost energy and boost the immune system. During this session our experienced guide Ruth will invite you to participate in various activities and exercises all designed to awaken your natural senses and slow down your mind, to bring your awareness to the here and now deep within nature.
There is good evidence to suggest that, as well as improving physical health, regular exercise and meditation can boost your mood, help beat stress and even reduce risk of depression. This event will be run safely and according to government guidelines - numbers are limited so please reserve your place asap to avoid disappointment.
South East and Central Essex Mind is your local mental health charity covering Castle Point, Chelmsford, Rochford, Southend-on-Sea and South Woodam Ferrers. Although affiliated to national Mind, we are an independent organisation and separately registered charity, and are responsible for funding our local mental health services and events.
