What does the session involve?

Forest bathing is the experience of immersing yourself in nature to improve wellbeing. It involves periods of gentle walking, alongside a series of invitations (activities) to encourage relaxation, mindfulness, and nature connection.

Does the event involve water?

Accepted Answer

No. The term ‘bathing’ relates to bathing in the atmosphere of the woodland/forest environment and does not involve water.

Question 3

Is the event suitable for children?﻿

Accepted Answer

This session is catered towards adults or young adults who do not need supervision and are comfortable spending time in silence. We do sometimes run sessions for children and/or families, who can also benefit greatly from forest bathing.

Question 4

Do I need to be really fit?

Accepted Answer

No, you do not need to be very fit to enjoy this walk, but there may be areas of uneven terrain and/or a few (small) inclines. If you have mobility concerns then please get in touch so we can discuss the route and work with you to ensure this is suitable.

Question 5

Will the event still run if it rains?

Accepted Answer

Yes! Rain can actually add to the experience of forest bathing because it provides additional sensory stimulation (e.g. sounds and smell). Please just ensure you are dressed appropriately for the weather. In cases of extreme weather the event may be postponed.

Question 6

What should I bring with me?

Accepted Answer

Wooded areas can get muddy and we strongly encourage you to wear waterproof walking boots with a good grip that you don’t mind getting dirty. We would also recommend wearing layers, and a decent waterproof jacket is a must. You may also want to bring a bottle of water and suncream if it is hot.
