Event description
Forest Bathing walks at the nature reserve.

About this Event

We are delighted to have Forest Bathing come to the reserve this year, as seen recently on the BBC 'Easy Ways to Live Well' series and featured in Sue Perkins trip to Japan. Laura Gwynne is a certified Forest Therapy Guide having trained with the Association of Nature & Forest Therapy in USA and will be bringing a series of immersive walks for us to experience being in nature in a slow and mindful way.

This is a special opportunity to come and enjoy this wild nature reserve with a Forest Therapy Guide. Forest Bathing is the Japanese art of 'Shinrin Yoku' which means to immerse your senses in the natural environment. You'll be invited to take notice of what's around you by relaxing your mind and tuning into your open awareness. Switching off from the business of life and allowing the visions and sounds of nature to relax and inspire you.

Laura Gwynne is hosting these 2 hour events at the nature reserve and bookings are direct through Laura. Places are £15 each payable to Laura. Laura makes a donation to the charity Sinfield Nature Conservation Trust for each booking.

How to book your place: book direct with Laura to reserve your place. Laura's booking page is at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/forest-bathing-tickets-97438999671

Email: lauramischief@hotmail.com or tel. 07711 604512 or see forestbathingsuffolk at Facebook and Instagram.

There will be themed walks:

  • Thursday 7 May ~ Wild Flowers (virtual session)
  • Thursday 2 July ~ Birds and Grasses
  • Thursday 3 September ~ Turning Leaves
  • Thursday 5 November ~ Hedgerow Berries

Times: Arriving at 9.45 a.m. for a 10 a.m. start. Ends at 12 noon.

From Sinfield Trust nature reserve car park (bear left at entrance), following signs, walk to the meeting place at The Barn.

Cost: £15 for two hours of restorative nature bathing in the beautiful soft wild landscape of Sinfield Nature Reserve. There are a limited number of places on each walk.

You need to bring layers to wear and a mat to sit on. You'll receive a welcome email when you book telling you what to expect and some details about the session.

"I feel that I have slowed down enough to notice and really appreciate all that is around me." Tim, Woodbridge
