Forest school - nature based games, crafts, activities, singing and food
About this event
Sessions run from 10am to 12 noon. They are open to 6-10 year olds, who can be dropped off and collected at the end of the session.
Sessions are completely outdoors and will run rain or shine. Children will need to be dressed appropriately for the weather. Even on hot sunny days it's important that children wear long sleeves and trousers to provide protection from sun and nettle stings. Waterproofs and layers are usually a good idea, as they can definitely expect to get muddy!
Each session we will be exploring nature, playing games, doing crafts, using tools, cooking on the fire, singing and telling stories. Forest school is child led, so they will have the freedom to choose what activities they engage in, and we will tailor the sessions according to the what the children want to do. Food will be available at every session, but if you think your child might be particularly hungry it's worth them packing a snack. We ask that you disclose any dietary requirements/allergies when you book.
The standard charge for Forest School at The Old Library is £10 per 2 hour session. There is also a donation option which enables you to pay whatever you can if £10 is too much. We suggest a donation of £5 for siblings.
If you are able to pay the supporter rate of £15 per session this then helps us to offer discounted tickets to more people.
