Event description

Description

Forging Families are teaming up with Sheffield Hallam University to present a fantastic, completely free, conference focusing on parental perinatal health on Saturday 3rd February.

It is open to both families and professionals - all are welcome and there is something for all.

The morning will be packed with speakers, both parents and professionals, about perinatal health, the problems, some solutions, and the work that has been done in Sheffield.

The afternoon will have a selection of workshops which you can choose from. Professionals and families working together, side by side. The workshops will range from what services can do better to help families, what families can do when PND strikes, how we can support Dads better within pregnancy, birth, and the early years, to how we can promote strong infant mental health.

The results of the workshops will be made available to all.

Our Speakers:

I am exceptionally happy to say that the fabulous Clinical Psychologist, doula, midwifery trainer and author, Mia Scotland will be one of our speakers.

Dr Raja Gangopadhyay, Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist with special interest in Perinatal Mental Health, an inspiring leader in the world of perinatal mental health will be talking to us.

The wonderful and ground breaking author of 'Robot Meg, she lives in my head', Vivien Sabel will also be speaking for us about infant mental health and more.

A Sheffield family will be sharing their journey with us, what worked, what didn't and how things can be improved for future families.

We will also be having two Leaders from Sheffield Public Health and CCG speaking about the changes that have happened in Sheffield and the successes that have been had.
