Event description
Time to step up! The ability to convey a message, to amplify your voice - can have a massive impact on your personal & professional success!

About this Event

Essentially, everyone wants to be heard & everyone wants to be understood.

The ability to convey a message, to amplify your voice - can have a massive impact on your personal & professional success.

Why are we so afraid of Speaking?

In a survey - Public Speaking was found to be a bigger anxiety trigger than DEATH!

So - who better to work with than Nick Elston - a Professional Speaker & International Inspirational Speaker on the subject of Anxiety, Mental Health & Resilience!

Nick's hugely successful Speaking career has stemmed from a point where he was crippled with fear to Speak - so he absolutely understands how people genuinely feel.

Nick now works with Global Stage Events, Corporates & is regularly featured on the BBC & Media as an expert in his field - and the one thing that shines out is his authenticity.

Wearing his trademark Cap, Shirt, Jeans & Boots - Nick knows the real power of Speaking is to be YOU - YOUR voice - YOUR style - YOUR character - just amplified!

Described as "a BIG man, BIG heart, BIG story, BRUTALLY honest - 10/10 - a Speaking Masterclass" - Nick has used his voice to achieve more business, make new connections, find new opportunities, gain fantastic PR opportunities, work better with his teams & people - even to live a personal life on his terms.

This workshop will be fun, energetic, casual, supportive, non judgemental & varied - as everyone will be attending for their own reasons!

Nick will give you all of the tools you need to use your new found voice to achieve what you aspire to - including videos, social media, personal brand, blogs & advice on getting the right Speaking Engagements for you!

Nick is restricting numbers STRICTLY to 15 - to ensure everyone maximises their day with the Forging People Speaking Academy.

Light refreshments (coffee, tea, water, biscuits) will be provided & there will be regular comfort breaks.

PLUS we will have TWO amazing Guest Speakers!

Tom Watson

‘Constructing Change: Being a man of more words’

What does it mean to be a man today?

Globally, the rate of suicide is alarmingly high: one man dies every minute somewhere in the world. 3 out of 4 suicides are men and it still being the biggest killer of men under the age of 45 in the UK.

We have to take action to improve mental health and reduce the rate of male suicide. A happy, healthy and mentally fit man is good for everyone. By becoming a man who is not just surviving but thriving we can be better husbands, brothers, friends, colleges, sons, partners and build stronger relationships between men and women.

Tom has worked within the male dominated construction industry since the age of 15 in what is often a stressful, toxic and harsh environment. This is reflected in some further alarming males suicide statistics specific to this profession.

Through his 'toolbox talks' specifically to the industry and campaiging at large outside of it with 'Talk Club' (talking a listening groups for men), he aims to tackle this crisis. Tom has used his own adversity and embarked on a journey to show men it is not weak to speak.

Join Tom who will delve into how we can be men of more words and share his own journey with battling and managing depression and anxiety.

Tom also runs his own podcast 'Project Get A Grip' which looks at the human experience at large and strives to connect the dots on how we can all live happier, healthier and better-connected lives.
