Forgotten mums - An Effective Way of Working

WHO IS THE COURSE FOR?
Health professionals, Counsellors, social worker, family support workers, or any professionals
involved with working with mums with social care involvement. This course will help provide a
clearer understanding of the legal process and also how to work with the mums to engage and
support them therapeutically.
This one day workshop is to look at best practices when working with mums involved with social care.
Aims of the workshop:
1) To understand the legal framework that the mums find themselves involved in.
2) To have an understanding how to work with the mums most effectively when involved in social care process.
3) Understand the unique situations we find ourselves in as professionals involved in the process.
4) Consider the "mums" world and their priorities.
Ideal workshop for counsellors, family support workers, social workers, health visitors, and any professionals that maybe involved in working with families involved with child protection.

Kate is a person centred counsellor and has her own private practice Cherry Tree Counselling. Kate
is also the founder on Motherwell, a Social Enterprise set up to support the mental health and
wellbeing of mums.
Kate has worked therapeutically with mums involved with Social Care and also mums who have had
the children removed for many years and is passionate about supporting them to move with their

Light refreshments will be available. Dinner not provided but lots of cafes available on our road.
