Who is this course aimed at: This is course is for experienced forklift truck operators whose certificates have expired.
Entry Requirements: This course is for experienced forklift truck drivers without a valid certificate. Minimum age 16.
The first day is theory and practical training and practice.
The second day is theory and practical assessment.
Course Outcomes: Lantra Certificate in Lift Truck Operations Course Description: The course provided practical and theoretical (classroom) training in the operation of forklift trucks (industrial, masted lift trucks of <5 tonnes capacity) including: - HSE legislation and safety guidelines for forklift trucks. - Introduction to lift trucks: pre-start checks and operating. - Starting, stopping and basic manoeuvring. - Operating with pallets and loads. - Handling bulk and difficult loads.
This course assumes some prior knowledge and experience of forklift truck operation. The course includes theoretical and practical assessments. A forklift truck operator's certificate will only be awarded if both assessments are successfully completed.
Other Information: This course can be delivered at UHI Shetland (Scalloway) or at an employer's premises, subject to the availability of a suitable forklift truck and facilities.

Photographic I.D. is required as this must be provided before commencement of the course otherwise no certificate will be issued to you. Please take suitable footwear.
