Forum for Students with a Disability, Mental Health Condition or a Specific...
Event Information
Description
The Student Association and the Student Disability Service would like to invite you to a student forum.
We would like to hear about the support you have had or would like to have from the University for those who have a Disability, Mental Health Condition or a Specific Learning Difference.
The session will be hosted by Eileen Xu, the Student Association's Disabled Students' Officer.
We are seeking feedback on three key areas.
- The challenges faced by students with disabilities due to the buildings and estates
- The University support for students with Mental Health Conditions.
- The support we currently offer to students with a learning difference such as dyslexia.
--
There will be a brief information sharing session on the work ongoing to improve these areas from The Director of Student Wellbeing (Andy Shanks), The Director of Student Disability Services (Paddy Corscadden) and the Disability Access and Equality Manager (Tim Thurston).
There will also be time for students to bring up any area they want to offer feedback and suggestions on in relation to the support students with disabilities, learning differences and mental health conditions have access to or should have access to.
--
Information on the accessibility of Appleton Tower can be found on AccessAble.
The forum is limited to 60 places so please book early and will last for approximately 90 minutes.
Students who have booked and attended will receive a £10 Blackwell’s book voucher at the end of the session as a thank you for their time and contributions.
If you have any questions about the Forum, including access requirements, then please contact disabledstudents@eusa.ed.ac.uk.
