Course content
Do you ever find what you think are fossils in rocks when you are out for a walk? This course will help you identify some of the common fossils found in Northumberland. The course will begin with an introductory session on what fossils are and how they form and what they tell us about life on Earth. This will be followed up by indoor sessions on marine fossils, plant fossils and trace fossils.
These sessions will be supported by field trips to look at the Carboniferous Limestone at Seahouses and the Coal Measures at Lynemouth.
