Fostering Potential: implementing an education peer-support programme

About this Event
This training is intended for fostering service and virtual school staff. It provides an introduction to an education peer-support model that can be set up by services, based on the Fostering Potential programme. The session will include opportunities to consider implications for practice and to discuss learning from the implementation of the programme.
Objectives
- To increase knowledge of the evidence base around the education of looked after children
- To explore how foster carers can support children’s educational outcomes
- To explore how peer-support approaches can be used to support foster carers’ knowledge and confidence in relation to the education of looked after children
- To learn about the tools and approaches needed to set up an education peer-support model in your service or local area
- To consider the practice implications of setting up an education peer-support model
- To share learning from the implementation of the Fostering Potential programme.
This course will be delivered via Zoom, confirmed delegates will be sent joining instructions by email a few days before the course start date.
