Explore the life and stories waiting in sticks, rocks, feathers and more with Araceli Puppet Theater in this one of a kind workshop.

Join us for one of 2 sessions held on Thursday October 30th and learn the unique art of found object manipulation puppetry and its storytelling potential.

This is a moving and rare form of puppetry where puppeteers explore the life within found objects. Araceli creates characters and tells stories not by fabricating complex purpose built bodies but by holding  and understanding the roots, bones, features and other natural objects she finds and brings out the character created by her relationship to the objects and the objects relationship to each other.

In the workshop Araceli will introduce the students to the concept of found object manipulation puppetry and to her process of finding the character and movement within the objects. She also teaches about using the objects to create and tell stories. She then supports the students through the rest of the workshop as they learn and play with her supply of incredible found objects to make and move their own characters to tell their own stories.

This workshop is hosted in as part of Puppet Place’s half-term outreach week

Cost is £12 a ticket.

Under 18’s are required to bring an adult, guardians do not need to pay if they are not making their own puppet.
