Responsible research and innovation (RRI) aims to help individuals and organisations to ensure the acceptability and desirability of research and innovation. It is an approach that has been adopted by major research funders including the European Commission and the UK Engineering and Physical Science Research Council (EPSRC).

ORBIT RRI Limited is a legally constituted, non-profit-distributing organisation, spun out from and owned by Oxford and De Montfort universities that provides training, consultancy and other RRI services to both university and industry research and innovation teams to help ensure that RRI principles are embedded in development from the earliest possible point.

Our suite of courses are delivered via purpose built platforms in a blended and interactive environment. We have delivered many courses to University students, supervisors and researchers from the UK and Europe, as well as EPSRC Project Managers. We also produce the monthly ORBIT RRI community newsletter where we feature projects, publications and much more alongside our active involvement in the Journal of Responsible Technology in collaboration with Elsevier.
