Description

Who is the course for?

For all clinical staff, particularly those new to end of life care or who have limited experience in this field.

By the end of this course you should be able to:

  1. Recognise the different stages of the dying trajectory.
  2. Describe symptom management at the end of life.
  3. Identify how to deliver practical care at the end of life.
  4. Recognise when someone is dying.
  5. Explore what happens after someone dies.
  6. Discuss communication strategies when supporting patients and their loved ones about end of life issues.
  7. Reflect on feelings and to be able to identify the importance of self-care to promote emotional resilience.
