Are you interested in how Digital is transforming businesses? Are you involved with establishing strategies and change in the Digital landscape at the level of a Product / Service lines or for a whole business? Have you maybe tried an Agile transformation that delivered little perceivable benefits? Have you found that traditional strategic frameworks do not visualise very well the complexity of Digital strategies?

Wardley maps offer a new perspective on strategy, particularly fit for the digital world. From the Genesis of new ideas to the rapid evolution towards their industrialisation as a platform. Maps offer an awareness of the context and how to play the strategy at multiple levels of the value chain.

This one day course is the first module of the Digital Strategy curriculum that we are shaping. We are also proposing the second module the next day.

Module 1 - course objective: This course will enable the participants to get a better understanding of Digital Strategies and how to use maps to establish situational awareness of their position in the landscape. Participants should get to draw simple maps by the end of this module.

What you will learn

  • The multiples dimensions of Digital Strategies.

  • Foundational concepts to Mapping.

  • The practice of the steps to building a map, including Purpose, User identification, User Needs, Value Chain and Map. Delegates may work from fictive scenarios, industry scenarios or their own real-life challenges.

  • Concepts of movement, climate and inertia (further developed in Module 2)

  • High-level understanding of the process of strategy from maps with an overview of more advanced climatic patterns, doctrine and gameplay that will be covered in the subsequent courses.

  • Strategists looking to build their initial understanding of Wardley maps.

  • Business owners, senior leaders looking to take a new approach in the fast-evolving Digital landscape.


This one day course is new content and the first in a series on Digital Strategies, hence it is highly discounted and the attendees will be encouraged to provide feedback. Included in the price are refreshments and lunch. The course is limited to 12 spaces.

The course will run from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM on Tuesday the 17th of December. There will be morning and afternoon breaks and 1 hr lunch.

We have two types of tickets on offer:

  • Attendance to the event, PDF material, support during the event

  • Attendance to the event as per above + 1 Hr one-to-one Zoom mentoring call in the following weeks/months
