Studio 3 has been providing training in the use and application of the Low Arousal Approach for three decades. Professionals, support workers, carers and family members have been able to access workshops focusing primarily on practical, non-confrontational approaches to supporting individuals who experience significant stress and present behaviours that may be difficult to manage.
This live online training is delivered by an experienced Studio 3 trainer, and equips families and carers with an understanding of the principles of the Low Arousal Approach, and how to implement these in practice.
Low Arousal Approaches can be applied in family settings to reduce stress and fear, and ultimately prevent and avoid crisis or meltdown situations. By understanding the role of the environment and individual triggers, these approaches focus on creating a calmer, more predictable, and supportive environment for all family members. Our family sessions offer an insight into the 'why' behind behaviours of distress, gaining knowledge of the science behind stress and consideration towards differences in brain development. By creating a more calming environment, family members can better regulate their emotions and respond in a more empathic and supportive way.
This webinar is 4 hours in duration, plus a comfort break.
