About this event

Many of us who are now operating as independent coaches were once fully employed in organisations. There aren’t many things I miss from my “corporate days” – but there is one exception. My annual development review!

The annual development review was my opportunity to think about where I wanted to go next and what additional skills and capabilities I would need to get there. However, as coaches we rarely have a line manager, so who can we talk to about our future development? Perhaps you have your own coach or mentor? Perhaps it something to talk through with your supervisor? Moreover, whomever you choose to talk about it with, it’s probably worth doing some of your own thinking and preparation first.

This recorded webinar was released in January as one of our Reflective Practice Space sessions - a timely opportunity to "take stock" and reflect more intentionally about what and how you want to develop in the year ahead.

The recording talks you through four more strategic approaches to development planning. So if your tendency is to wait and see what comes into your inbox and decide on impulse what opportunities you want to sign up for - "spoiler alert" this will be quite a shift change!!

The webinar begins with an invitation for you to determine what your intention of this stock take is for you. We might assume that it's going to be about plugging skills gaps. Well it could be, or perhaps you want to identify and harness your strengths alternatively perhaps it's an opportunity to shape or re-shape your portfolio or a chance to think more commercially about your business growth. Don't rush this bit, getting focused about your intention will help ensure you are more committed to what comes out of the process.

Whatever your intention, the recording will enable you to self-coach through four more strategic approaches?

  1. Whole case load approach
  2. Identifying patterns from emergence
  3. Deliberately Developmental focus
  4. Listening to the system

We hope that wherever you are in your own developmental journey, that you will take some inspiration from these four ideas. And if you choose not to follow one of these Blueprints, preferring a more "magpie" approach... well that could be entirely appropriate ....if you do so intentionally?? So we offer some ideas around that too!

When you register here, we will send you an e-mail with the recording link, please give us a couple of days to arrange this as it's not possible to automate it. If you think we've forgotten you, please e-mail emma@greenfieldsconsultancy.co.uk.
