Description

Lambeth for Europe

Wandsworth & Merton European Movement

and

Clarkshaw’s Brewery

invite you to the launch of

FOUR FREEDOMS PALE ALE

Four Freedoms is a new delicious, light and fresh pale ale, blended from English and German hops, created by a group of passionate pro-Europeans and brewed by Brixton’s Clarkshaw’s Brewery. The beer celebrates the common aspirational principles of the European Single Market: the four freedoms of movement of goods, capital, services, and labour.

The idea to create a pro-European beer was born after a bunch of South Londoners met during the Referendum and formed two groups, Lambeth for Europe and Wandsworth & Merton European Movement, to reflect the values of some of London's most pro-Remain boroughs.

Alongside their high-profile campaigning, they also quickly realised they all really liked beer.

Aiming to make a positive statement asserting the UK’s membership of the European family, they approached Clarkshaw’s in Loughborough Junction. They wanted a beer that didn’t just have a cute name, but also represented the values of unity that we are in danger of losing. Four Freedoms was created, a pale ale carefully blended from English and German hops.

Four Freedoms Pale Ale is launched on October 19th (the eve of the next People’s Vote march), at the beautiful Whirled Cinema, a few doors down from Clarkshaw’s in Loughborough Junction. Attendance is by invitation only. Besides the beer, there will be suitably European food. Music comes from Larry Love of Brixton legends Alabama 3.

Politics can drive people to drink sometimes - we’d love it if you came along!
