Ymunwch â ni am ddangosiad o ffilm ddogfen arbrofol hyd nodwedd Anthea Kennedy ac Ian Wiblin, ‘Four Parts of a Folding Screen’. Mae’r ffilm, a ffilmiwyd ym Merlin, yn archwilio allgáu, diffyg gwladwriaeth a dwyn a gwerthu eiddo dyddiol teulu gan y gyfundrefn Natsïaidd. Bydd y dangosiad yn cael ei gyflwyno gan wneuthurwyr y ffilm. Bydd y drafodaeth banel a’r sesiwn holi ac ateb a fydd yn dilyn y dangosiad yn rhoi sylw i osod themâu a chynnwys y ffilm mewn cyd-destun â phrofiadau cyfoes o alltudiaeth– a chwilio am noddfa rhag gormes. Mae’r digwyddiad wedi’i drefnu gyda chefnogaeth Cyngor Ffoaduriaid Cymru yng Nghaerdydd, a Chymdeithas Hanes Iddewig De Cymru. Join us for a screening of Anthea Kennedy’s and Ian Wiblin's feature-length experimental documentary film, 'Four Parts of a Folding Screen'. The film, shot in Berlin, explores exclusion, statelessness and the theft and sale of a family’s everyday household possessions by the Nazi regime. The screening will be introduced by the filmmakers. The panel discussion and Q&A that will follow the screening will serve to place the themes and content of the film in context with contemporary experiences of exclusion and exile – and of seeking sanctuary from oppression. The event has been organised with support from the Welsh Refugee Council in Cardiff, and the Jewish History Association of South Wales. Members from these organisations will be represented on the Q&A panel.

Refreshments will be provided for the event.

This event is part of Being Human Festival, the UK’s national festival of the humanities, taking place 7–16 November 2024. Led by the School of Advanced Study, University of London, with generous support from Research England, in partnership with the Arts and Humanities Research Council and the British Academy. Filmmakers' bios:

Anthea Kennedy is the granddaughter of the central 'character' of this film. She has been a lecturer in film-making in London. Ian Wiblin is a senior lecturer in photography at the University of South Wales. Kennedy and Wiblin have been making experimental documentaries together since the early 2000s. Their films have been screened at international film festivals and other screening events.
