Event description

Description

Political Discourse Day is a day-long event, designed to bring together scholars and students who are interested in the study of political discourse or qualitative methods. The day will consist of data analysis sessions where everyone spends most of the session going through the data transcripts and discussing their analytical significance. The event is also accompanied by a keynote speech by Dr Stephen Gibson, associate professor of Psychology, from York St John University.

The aim of the event is to demonstrate a range of different approaches and see how these can complement and challenge each other when analysing political discourse. For this fourth event specifically, we are also looking to develop a special edition for an appropriate peer reviewed journal. These events are successful in terms of aiding scholars in developing their work towards a publication as well as for networking.
