Join us for an all-ayrshire road cycling challenge across the Ayrshire Alps Cycle Park - on the 30th Aug This is a no-frills social ride aimed at cycling clubs and communities within Ayrshire and the Scottish Cycling South West development group.

The ride is sponsored by FPP Scotland Ltd.

There will be two ride options, starting and finishing in Kirkmichael. This is a non-timed, non-competitive ride, rather like a Sportive but even more laid-back. The Ayrshire Alps Friendly is a great opportunity to ride and socialise with cyclists from across Ayrshire and Dumfriesshire.

The 100km route heads west to the climb of Blackie's Brae, then crosses back via Glenginnet and the slopes of Glenalla. Onto the big daddy of the 'Nic O Balloch'. The shallow slopes of Tairlaw Shalloch are rewarded with a 5mile descent towards Straiton before the final categorised climb of Largs.

The 60km follows most the route of the 100km, but skips the climbs of Glenginnet, Glenalla and Largs. The event is registered via British Cycling as a 'reliability' trial, ensuring sufficient insurance is in place. As a result there will be a £3 fee payable on the day.

Please help us on the morning by registering in advance.

Depending on numbers, we will set groups off based on ability, so please indicate on your ticket what average speed you expect to ride at (12mph, 16mph, 20mph, 24mph)
