Hear both sides of the fracking debate, to make an informed decision on this controversial process.

The motion
'This house believes shale gas should be considered as part of the UK's future energy mix'. 

The Proposer
Bill McCaffrey, Professor of Clastic Sedimentology in the Department of Earth and the Environment, University of Leeds, and Research Director of Petroleum Leeds, the University's Centre for Integrated Petroleum Engineering and Geoscience.

The Opposer
Tina Rothery is a freelance writer living in Lancashire and since 2011, a campaigner against the shale gas industry. 

The Chair 
Ann Forsaith, regional coordinator of the Yorkshire and Humber Green Party. 

We will be asking for donations on the night to cover expenses.

Please note that parking at the venue is limited but it is close to many bus routes.
