Framing Futures
Overview
Framing Futures event marks the Photojournalism Hub’s winter get together. An evening dedicated to nurturing the next generation of photojournalists and documentary photographers.
The event will feature a showcase of photography donated by international photojournalists and guest speakers from the industry, offering insights on building a career in photojournalism. Funds raised will support youth bursaries and project grants, supporting young photographers in developing their professional paths.
Bursaries will fund one-to-one portfolio reviews, offering tailored guidance and mentorship.
Grants will support the development of new documentary photography projects, selected through an Open Call launching in 2026.
These initiatives form part of the Photojournalism Hub’s broader vision to open a festival in 2026, where emerging voices will have space to grow, showcase, and connect.
Framing Futures brings together our vibrant community of photographers, documentary storytellers, community organisers, and supporters who share our vision of photojournalism for action and change. Together, we will champion and empower the young truth-seekers shaping tomorrow’s visual storytelling landscape.
We are honoured to welcome Suzanne Plunkett, Reuters UK & Ireland Chief Photographer, as our guest speaker, who will be speaking about the current landscape for aspiring photojournalists and introduce two Reuters interns who will speak about their own journeys into the field.
The evening will also feature a showcase of powerful photography donated by professional photojournalists who stand with us in supporting emerging talent.
Raffle tickets will be on sale, and three winners will take home a print of an acclaimed photojournalist.
Every ticket entry to the event will have a free raffle ticket and a chance to win a print as well as one photography magazine produced with our young participants of our photojournalism and documentary photography courses.
Refreshments will be provided.
