Malmö Research University Centre for Imagining and Co-Creating Futures (IFC) and Media Evolution warmly invites you to a joint event in the Futures Thoughts series – this time with the editorial team of the journal Fronesis – to mark the release of their latest issue Framtider (Futures) and to celebrate the addition of the book in the Futures Library at Media Evolution.
Framtider explores the concept of the future in a time of meta-crisis: climate change, growing authoritarian forces and rampant inequality, all of which are interconnected.
The issue problematizes the linear idea of progress of Western modernity and examines how “smart futures” and acceleration policies risk deepening contemporary crises. It also offers alternatives through perspectives that emphasize slowness over acceleration and collective care over individual survival.
You will meet and hear from three of the editors – Åsa Ståhl, Ylva Gislen and Dalia Mukhtar-Landgren – and researchers involved in Imagining and Co-Creating Futures at Malmö University.
