About this event

In 1935, Frank Lloyd Wright designed a country house for the Kaufmann family of Pittsburgh. Cantilevered over a small stream and waterfall, Fallingwater was instantly famous for its innovative and dramatic design. It continues to inspire visitors from around the world and has been named “the best all-time work of American architecture” by the American Institute of Architects and designated UNESCO World Heritage in 2019.

Wright's masterwork, nestled within the lush, wooded Bear Run Nature Reserve, is a timeless monument to organic architecture at its absolute best. Learn how architect, client, and site came together to create a house designed for living in harmony with nature.

This talk will be presented by Amy Humbert, Manager of Outreach and School Programs at Fallingwater, and Ashley Andrykovitch, Senior Director and Curator of Education at Fallingwater.
